The QFM Section Gauge is a heavy-duty area sensor for real-time measuring the cross-section of hot rolled bars. The material temperature for steel products must be between 850°C and 1,150°C, lower than 850°C in case of non-ferrous materials. The detection of the cross section area is done by measurement of the electrical impedance variation.
The calibration of the system is performed by user-freindly driven procedure onto a dedicated HMI local panel.
QFM Section Gauge is designed to be installed directly into the bar and wire rod rolling process to monitor the hot product without physical contact. It can be used for both bar (slitting) and wire rod applications, and it is suitable for single or multiple strand rolling operations.
