Batch and inline production

No bending or straightening

Here is how the belt casting process works: The liquid steel flows into the tundish and from there into another vessel which feeds it onto a circulating, cooled belt conveyor. There, the steel solidifies under inert atmospheric conditions to form a thin strip. That eliminates the need for bending, straightening, mold powder, or oscillation. Mechanical loads are therefore not generated. Typical product dimensions are 10 – 20 millimeters thick and 1,000 – 1,600 millimeters wide, with casting speeds of up to 30 meters per minute. The BCT® plant has a compact design.
