Morocco’s first flat products mill

The twin-stand Steckel mill of Maghreb Steel produces a wide range of hot strip at low conversion costs. It is part of a works complex that comprises an electric arc furnace meltshop, continuous caster and hot rolling mill with Steckel and heavy-plate line that were all supplied by us inclusive of the electrical equipment and automation system. The heavy-plate mill stand may also be used as roughing stand for the Steckel mill. This allows Maghreb Steel to flexibly adjust its product mix to the market demand.

Both mill stands feature CVC® plus technology with integrated work roll bending system as well as hydraulic gap control. In combination with the PCFC® model, for each pass the roll gap can be set in such a way that the strips produced are well within the demanded profile and flatness tolerances.
