High productivity through fully automatic operation and short cycle times

The new MP 3150 eccentric closed-die forging press from SMS group is designed for the production of track links for excavators at TZCO Chain Manufacturing in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, China. With this plant, TZCO can manufacture a key safety- and performance-relevant component for the construction equipment industry in a highly efficient and reliable way.

The fully automatic forging line combines high output, short cycle times, and precise process control to support stable serial production. With a nominal press force of 3,150 tons (31.5 MN), a maximum stroke rate of up to 30 strokes per minute, and a cycle time of up to four seconds per part, the plant is engineered for demanding production requirements. The installation includes an electric walking beam transfer system, servo drives on every axis, automatic die lubrication and spray systems, a quick-change die holder, and a duplex bolster changing car.

For TZCO, this means higher productivity, reduced material consumption, and lower downstream machining effort.
