Screw press, AVIC Shaanxi Hongyuan Aviation Forging (China)

As a major producer of structural components for aviation, such as aviation discs and turbine blades, AVIC Shaanxi Hongyuan Aviation Forging successfully operates SMS group’s clutch-operated screw press SPKA.

Thanks to this investment, AVIC has increased its production volume and component portfolio, and now supplies the aircraft industry with forgings from high-alloy steel, titanium, and nickel-based alloys.

The clutch-operated screw press has a screw diameter of 1,330 mm, a hard-on-hard blow force of 365 MN, a gross energy capacity of 27,000 kJ, and a weight of 2,900 tones. It is the world’s third clutch-operated screw press of this size supplied by SMS group and surpasses the two earlier presses in performance.
