During the seminar, over 350 participants, representing the leading Latin American metal producers, had access to 69 technical presentations that explored a range of important topics and covered all stages of steel and metal production — from raw materials to manufacturing processes and innovations for the final products. In addition, advances in process automation, digitalization and integrated systems were discussed, all of which are considered essential for increasing productivity and promoting a more sustainable industrial future.
One of the key moments of the event was the roundtable with renowned industry leaders who discussed "The Challenges in the Metals Industry Market: What is the Role of Technology Companies?" The panel featured Rodrigo Carazolli (Business Transformation Director at ArcelorMittal Aços Longos), Rafael Gambôa (Industrial and CAPEX Director at Gerdau), Fabiam Franklin (Metallurgy Manager at CSN) and Ricardo Nascimento (Shareholder of Grupo Ferroeste). Moderated by journalist Vanda Sampaio, with contributions from Paulo Pinheiro (CEO and CSO of SMS group Brasil) and Ricardo Giacomin (CEO of Vetta), the discussion provided valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry and emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration to overcome the complexity of this sector.
