Electrically heated CGL with AI‑driven microstructure control for high‑quality coating

The CGL delivers 650,000 t/a with a fully electrically heated Drever furnace for zero CO₂ and optimized microstructure. Atmosphere control and Duma‑Bandzink air‑knife ensure uniform ZnMg coating from 900–1,900 mm and 0.4–2.5 mm at up to 180 m/min. An AI X‑Pact Microstructure Model enables in‑line adjustments for reproducible coating and properties.

The Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) is designed for continuous galvanizing with the highest quality standards. The line is equipped with a fully electrically heated Drever furnace (induction combined with electrically powered radiant tubes), which provides precise temperature control with a zero CO₂ footprint and deliberately optimizes the strip microstructure. Advanced atmosphere control prepares the strip surface optimally for metal coating, while the Duma‑Bandzink air‑knife system precisely and uniformly controls the ZnMg coating thickness across the strip width. The CGL processes strip widths from 900 to 1,900 mm and thicknesses from 0.4 to 2.5 mm, achieves process speeds up to 180 m/min and contributes to annual production with a capacity of 650,000 t. The line is complemented by the AI‑driven X‑Pact® Microstructure Property Model, which delivers material‑specific predictions and enables in‑line adjustments to ensure reproducible coating and material properties.
