Digital Low Emission Brake

The Digital Low Emission Brake project develops an economical and sustainable process chain for laser-based coating, using brake discs and shafts as examples, via HS-DED-LB/M. The goal is to reduce fine dust and CO₂ emissions through wear- and corrosion-resistant coating systems. To achieve cost-effective and industry-ready manufacturing, economical coating systems are specifically developed, and downstream processing steps are comprehensively optimized. Additionally, a digital quality assurance framework is developed, enabling real-time process and quality control. This aims to ensure consistent component quality and cost reduction compared to the current state of the art.
