The mechanical upsetters WSHK allow for precise geometries, high surface qualities and undercuts due to their combination of high clamping forces and a three-split tool. Upsetting in a series of operations in one tool is possible. The clamping slide (vertical movement) is directly linked to the crank drive with a toggle system, which allows for impact extrusion and makes the clamping force available early in the upsetting process. The high clamping forces can be safely utilized due to the hydraulic overload protection. The toggle system also allows for extraordinarily long guideways for the upsetting slide (horizontal movement). Either a continuously revolving flywheel with a wear-free hydraulic clutch and brake combination or a servomotor with a transmission can efficiently provide the energy for the upsetting process. The machine is particularly suited for efficient production of larger quantity parts.
