Krupp Industrietechnik

Krupp Industrietechnik GmbH (formerly: Krupp Industrie- und Stahlbau GmbH) was responsible within the Krupp Group for steel construction, conveyor technology, as well as heavy machinery and plant engineering. Krupp Industrietechnik specialized primarily in bridge construction but also built numerous industrial facilities. Like Siemag, Mannesmann-Meer, Demag AG, and Maschinenfabrik Sack, it was involved in projects such as the construction of the steelworks in Rourkela (India).

In 1989, Mannesmann Demag AG acquired Krupp Industrietechnik GmbH and integrated it into its Metallurgy/Steelmaking division. With the acquisition of Mannesmann Demag by SMS in 1999, the expertise was transferred to the SMS group. To this day, many blast furnaces, converters, electric arc furnaces, continuous casting plants, and forging presses still bear the traditional name and the Krupp logo. Maintenance, spare parts supply, upgrades, and all other services for Krupp equipment are handled by SMS group Service.
