Modernization of wire rod mill
SMS group modernized the wire rod mill of Caleotto SpA. With the upgraded mill Caleotto, is able to produce 300,000 tons per year of wire rod from special steel.
Final products can also be produced with a thermomechanical rolling process at temperatures between 750 °C – 800 °C.
The modernization comprised the installation of a new MEERdrive®PLUS block, a multiline loop concept and a MEERgauge® system.
